- Integration
We have integrated many third party applications using a variety of technologies. For example, early on in the BioPower product lifecycle, Spotfire's Decision Site served as a host (still an option but less common). The challenge with this approach was that the Decision Site plug-in model was COM based and our software was .Net based. At the time, COM was compatible with .Net but .Net was not compatible with COM. The solution involved a creative approach that involved an MFC wrapper around our .Net application. The MFC wrapper exposed the required COM interface and managed the two way communication between our .Net application and the COM based Decision Site host.
- Enterprise Database Applications
Many of our clients have existing database solutions and desire expanded analysis and/or customization options. BioPower provides a great solution for these clients. For example, we have integrated BioPower with the RS3 database application. This implementation enabled two way communication between RS3 and BioPower. BioPower provided computation and decision logic that RS3 did not offer. In addition to commercial integration projects, we have also completed integration with an custom Oracle-based LIMS to expand the system's HTS capabilities. Not all of our projects involve integration. We successfully designed, built, and delivered (under budget) a custom compound database and interface responsible for their corporate and partner data.
- Algorithm and Target Solutions
Our team has created proprietary algorithms from scientist's specifications. These algorithms were tested, optimized and integrated into enterprise systems, BioPower and even MS Excel. To minimize the difficulties associated with custom software maintenance, the BioPower framework is equipped with a powerful customizable and extendable data environment. Data environments allow our users to deliver targeted, custom solutions to difficult data analysis problems without custom code.
